This is how I'm feeling today. It's gloomy outside. I'm tired and my head is stuffed with to-do lists full of homework, cleaning and routine tasks. As I walked home from school today I thought of this dialogue between Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh:
"Pooh? What do you like best in the world?"
"Oh, I like it when someone says 'how about a smackeral of honey."
"I like that too. But mostly I just like doing nothing."
"How do you do just nothing?"
"Well, it's when grown-ups ask, 'what are you doing' and you say 'nothing.' And then you go out and do it!"
"I like that! Let's do it all the time."
You know, I have a beautiful life. I enjoy the things I'm learning and (mostly) how I spend my time. But every once in a while I get the craving to 'do just nothing.' Somehow I suspect that Christopher Robin's nothing is not like the couch potato we're so accustomed. I think Christopher Robins nothing is taking walks, exploring outside, skipping rocks, being inside your imagination, etc. I think it's the not worrying and letting things happen that comes with being a kid. I intend to adopt this attitude from time to time. I think you should also. But for now? Back to work.

this is the most profound insight about nothing that i've ever read. it makes me want to do nothing. ; )
I'd like to do nothing all the time if it were in Christopher Robins terms. I like that picture of you. :)
Oh I know that desire, and it's so unfortunate that the normal scheduling of life doesn't make room for nothing, because I do believe we all need a bit of it.
And remember that one time I visited you in Orem and we read Winnie the Pooh? After that I decided my children will grow up with such fabulous literature. So thanks that bit of culture.
